About the Warm Homes Local Grant
– The UK Government has pledged to upgrade approximately five million homes within the next five years through its Warm Homes Plan. – This initiative is designed to significantly reduce household energy costs, enhance living comfort, and address fuel poverty across the UK. – Upgrading homes is a fundamental part of the Government’s broader strategy toward transforming Britain into a global leader in clean energy. – The Warm Homes Plan aligns with the wider national commitment to provide clean energy throughout the UK by 2030, cutting household bills in the process. – These measures will facilitate the transition of homes towards clean heating solutions, supporting the UK’s long-term objective of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.


What Measures Could You Get?
Energy Performance Upgrades: Measures to improve the energy efficiency of homes, such as insulation and draught proofing. Up to £15,000 in funding per household.
Low-Carbon Heating: Installations of low-carbon heating systems, such as heat pumps. Up to £15,000 in funding per household.

Am I Eligible?
To qualify for Gloucester’s Warmer Homes Scheme grant, applicants must ensure both their property and household satisfy certain eligibility requirements. These criteria, outlined clearly below, cover specific aspects relating to household income, occupancy status, energy efficiency ratings, and property type, ensuring the support reaches residents most in need of energy efficiency improvements.


- Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D to G
- Privately owned (owner-occupied or privately rented)
- The scheme covers all fuel types, including homes on mains gas and off-grid homes using electricity, oil, coal, or LPG.
- Receive means-tested benefits
- Have a gross household income under £36,000
- Suffer with a medical condition aggravated by cold (e.g., asthma, high blood pressure)
- Live in a qualifying postcode (as defined by the grant)
- Properties with an EPC rating in bands A to C.
- New build or self-build homes that have not been previously occupied.
- Social housing (except for in-fill purposes, with specific conditions).
- Park homes that are not the permanent residence of the household or are expected to be demolished before the measure guarantee period ends.
